VentureWell E-Team Program

COVID-19 Policy for In-person Workshops

Updated August 24, 2022

COVID-19 Policy*

VentureWell’s goal is to maintain a positive experience and ensure the continued health, safety, and well-being of our innovator community. In order to attend the in-person workshop and mitigate risks of the spread of COVID-19, participants must agree to comply with VentureWell’s COVID-19 policy which is aligned with the current CDC COVID-19 guidance, including:

  • Health monitoring and symptom reporting
  • Masking is highly recommended indoors. However, if the COVID-19 Level is high, all participants will be required to mask indoors, and socially distance.
  • Self-testing if exposed to COVID-19 within 10 days of the workshop

This policy is subject to change with the introduction of additional public health guidelines from local, state, and federal authorities, as well as changing venue requirements. Any policy updates will be communicated in a timely manner.

*This policy will be shared with teams in the program acceptance notification email, the registration link, registration confirmation, email communication prior to workshop, program orientation, and during the workshop.

Policy Implementation*

Health monitoring and symptom reporting

All participants must self-screen before entering the event space. During check-in each day of the workshop, a VentureWell staff member will ask each participant if they are experiencing any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19. Participants will be asked to not attend if they are experiencing any of the following:

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • GI distress, including nausea, diarrhea, and/or vomiting
  • Congestion and/or runny nose
  • Sore throat and/or
  • New loss of taste or smell

In the event of participant illness during the VentureWell workshop, the participant shall:

  • Inform VentureWell staff right away if they have a concern that they or someone they know has been exposed to COVID-19.
  • If there is potential that a participant has been exposed or might be sick with anything, the participant will need to provide evidence of a negative rapid test taken that day.
  • If a test is unavailable or is refused by the participant, they will be asked to leave the workshop and/or quarantine.
  • If a participant must leave the event, the participant’s team member can continue at the workshop, provided they are not experiencing symptoms and have not been exposed to someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Masking Highly Recommended Indoors

While masking indoors is not required, VentureWell highly recommends each participant wear a face mask, regardless of vaccination status, during all indoor activities even where social distancing practices allow, except when actively eating or drinking. *However, if the COVID-19 Level is high, all participants will be required to mask indoors, and socially distance.

Self-Testing If Exposed to COVID-19

According to the CDC COVID-19 Guidelines around isolation, “Regardless of vaccination status, you should isolate from others when you have COVID-19. You should also isolate if you are sick and suspect that you have COVID-19 but do not yet have test results. If your results are positive, follow the full isolation recommendations [linked here]. If your results are negative, you can end your isolation.” Based on the CDC guidance above, VentureWell requires that any participant, if exposed to COVID-19 within 10 days of the E-Team workshop, self-test to verify results. It is recommended that an antigen or PCR COVID-19 test is taken 24-48 hours prior to the workshop. If a participant has been exposed to COVID-19 within the last 10 days, they must wear a high-quality mask indoors.

If you test positive, you are unable to attend the E-Team workshop. In the event you test positive for COVID-19 prior to the VentureWell workshop, you should:

  • Inform VentureWell staff right away of your impending absence.
  • If your team member has not been exposed they are welcome and encouraged to attend the workshop as a solo team member or your entire team can choose to defer your workshop participation to a later cohort.
  • If your team member has been exposed to COVID-19, they are unable to attend the workshop. Your team will be eligible to defer your workshop participation to a later cohort.

*This policy implementation plan will be shared with teams in the registration link where they will check a box confirming that they are willing to abide by the policies and implementation plan (similar to the photo/video release), registration confirmation, email communication prior to workshop, program orientation, and during the workshop.
